Campus TVs & eNEWS Student Update

Start with a Good Idea Good ideas are what makes advertising so impactful. Make careful considerations to the message and the images you choose.

Production Identification Make sure you are able to read the event name.

Short Copy Use 30 words or less and keep them short for easy comprehension.

Standard Template Use the standard template in PowerPoint, not the wide screen template (click design, then slide size).

Large and Legible Type Lettering should be a either Calibri or Arial and no less than 20 pt font. Avoid bolding AND underlining or other text embellishments—pick one.

Bold Colors Be bold with colors.

High Contrast For high visibility, use contrasting colors.

Simplify Everything Stay with one key idea or objective.

View at a Distance (if showing on Campus TVs) Look at the design from 5 feet away for only 10 seconds. Can you understand it? Can you read it all?  This simulates walking past the TV monitors.

Make sure you have all these elements included:

  1. Title
  2. Purpose
  3. Date(s)/Time/Location
  4. Contact info (email or name)
  5. One Graphic (optional)
