Checking Items In

 

  1. Function → Check In (No Patron)
  2. Click in Search Box at
    1. You can backdate the check in by clicking on the Backdate button
    2. You can waive charges  on items being checked in by clicking the box
    3. Scan barcode on item (or type in barcode) → Search
  3. Close
  4.  Watch the pop ups! Here are some instructions that may pop up as you check in items:
    1. Messages to route this item to a specific staff member. Just place the item with a sticky note on their desk.
    2. Messages to check for all parts
    3. The item is on hold for someone. Follow the prompts to print the hold slip from the receipt printer and attach the hold slip to the item. Place the item on the holds shelf.
  5. If the item does not belong to LTC – attempt to scan the barcode of the item anyway (if it has one) to check it in – it may come up as an interlibrary loan item. If it has an ILL slip of paper in it: Scan the barcode on the slip of paper to check it in. Once checked in, leave on Ashley’s desk for ILL processing. If neither barcode retrieves a known item in Sierra, leave on Ashley’s desk anyway.
