Library Procedure Handbook

Printing Basics

Students print using their print manager account. They will need to:

  • Log on to a library computer
  • Open/download their document
  • Click "Print" and confirm in the pop-up that they want to print - they will also see the cost of the print at that time

By submitting the print job, it will print at the library printer and automatically deduct the cost from their print account.

Copy/Scanning: To make copies, students should scan and send documents to their email (free) and print using their Print Manager account. They can also pay in cash: 5 cents per page for black ink and 50 cents per page for color.

SRC staff only can make copies directly by putting in the code 1130. Typically students are directed to use the scanning function.

Print Manager Plus

Description: PMP is used for adding money to student printing accounts.

  1. Open Print Manager Plus (Internet Explorer is recommended – will not work in Chrome)!  (Click Here)
  2. Click on Continue to this website (not recommended). When you see this screen:
  3. Login using your network login (initials + password)
  4. Click on "Balances" in the top ribbon
  5. Enter  student’s ID number in the “User” box (you may need to delete your login username first by clicking the x on the right side)
  6. When student is adding money, be sure to click the radio button in front of “Paid”, then enter the amount of money you wish to add to the account and click "+".
  7. The Unlimited slider button will always be green for students; if it says “unlimited” in the balance column, click on “Off”, then “unlimited” should disappear from the balance column.

Printer Troubleshooting

If the printer is not printing properly, attempt to follow the prompts on the screen. Here are some common issues:

1) Paper Jam: Follow the prompts on the screen to clear the jammed piece of paper

2) Out of toner: There are more toner cartridges on the bottom left-hand shelf in the first aisle in the backroom.

  • Find the one that matches the color you need.
  • Take it out of the box and remove the cap on the top
  • Open the front panel on the printer
  • Remove the old cartridge and insert the new one it its place
  • Place the empty cartridge in the box and send up to the copy shop with a post-it requesting more for the library (#37)

3) Out of paper: Paper is kept in the cabinet next to the printer.

4) Student needs resume paper or colored paper: There is special paper in the first aisle in the backroom

Nothing is working! If the copy machine is malfunctioning and nothing seems to help, call the copy center at extension 1147 and place an "Out of Order" sign on the machine.
