Checking Out Items

Checking Items Out: 

STOP!!! Are you checking out equipment??? Check the Devices and Equipment Checkout page for the finer details!!

  1. Set up printer
    1. File → Select Printer → Receipt Printer → Email to Patron → OK
    2. If patron wants printed receipt:
      1. File → Select Printer → Receipt Printer → Local Printer → select “Receipt Printer E4”
  2. Function → Check out (Circulation Desk) 
  3. Be sure “Print Slip” is checked
  4.  Search for patron:
    1. Scan in barcode code from Student ID card OR
    2. Click on Search button → click on dropdown arrow → Choose a search option
      1. b Barcode (scan student ID barcode) → Search
      2. n Name (type in patron’s last name then first name (no comma) → Search
      3. u Institution ID (type in student ID) -> Search
      4. Then patron information will load
  5. Click in Search box → scan in barcode of material being checked out
  6. Item being checked out will appear below. Confirm that the due date looks correct - if not click "Change Due Date" 
  7. Click on CLOSE at the top, just below the Function box. 
  8. The due date receipt will be emailed to the patron when you click Close. 

 

Checking out Equipment's to students under the age of 18

Checking out equipment and reserved items to student aged under 18

  1. Email address of a parent or guardian must be added to the student's account.
  • Go to student's account: Click on edit on the top left corner of the page
  • Click on Address, put the blinking cursor to the front of the top line and press shift and enter together. A new row should appear. Type in  "C/O" followed by parent's first and last name.
  • Go to email section, put your cursor after the student's email, add a comma, followed directly by parent's email - NO SPACES!!
  • click save
  1. Student should sign the equipment agreement form if checking out equipment.

Adjusting Due Dates

1) To adjust a due date, scan the item in to check it out to the person. 

2) Select the item you want to change

3) Click on "Change Due Date" in the upper right hand corner

4) Use the calendar to select the correct due date. 

5) Hit "Close."
