Our third and final goal was to curate a small collection of recreational and foundational materials in each major career area in Spanish and Hmong to ensure students can explore their interests, degree programs, and the basics of their career path in the language that is most accessible to them.
To date, we have purchased 122 physical items and 50 digital items for this collection. The physical items currently represent approximately 2% of our overall collection. The digital items reflect our purchases in Overdrive, however we also have thousands of Spanish language materials available through our EBSCO database subscriptions. We have seen enough demand for these materials to justify operationalizing this process and a portion of our yearly acquisition budget will be allocated to multilingual materials. Given this, we anticipate this collection will continue to grow.
